Successful Treatment of the Keto-Rash by a Visitor to this Site

Every once in a while people will contact me about a rash that they think might be keto-rash. I do my best to respond to all of them, and sometime I hear back and sometimes I don’t. Well here’s a case where someone with a rash tried treating it by increasing their carb intake and provided wonderful followup.

Prurigo pigmentosa: Clinicopathological study and analysis of 50 cases in Korea

Published in 2012, in the Journal of Dermatology

They report that this rash was first described in Japan, in 1971 (can’t wait to look at this paper), with more than 300 cases reported at the time of this papers publication.… Read More

Prurigo Pigmentosa: A Clinicopathologic Study of 4 Cases from the Middle East

This was the first case series from the Middle East, out of the American University of Beirut Medical Center, Lebanon.  This article is hot off the presses, just published in the American Journal of Dermatology on July 30, 2014.

SUBJECTS:

  • All 4 patients were female with a mean age of 23.5
  • 3 of the 4 had a history of prior episodes
  • One patient reported an association with the rash and with Ramadan fasting.
